Who we are
River of Life House is a non-profit ministry providing transitional housing in Polk County, Oregon for those getting out of jail/prison and those already on probation in the county.
We are a group of Christian men and women who believe that Christ died so that everyone might have a second chance. Our ministry is focused on individuals who live a lifestyle that embraces lawlessness (street ministry), those who are currently incarcerated (prison ministry), and those who are attempting to re-enter society (re-entry ministry).
God has given us the opportunity through River of Life House to create Christ-centered, safe, stable, semi-structured residences for men and women where they can receive support, encouragement and accountability to successfully transition back into society.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a home for individuals to live while they learn to develop higher levels of responsibility, productivity, integrity, accountability and healthy life choices in a Christ-centered, Bible-based environment.
The River of Life was presented to John in a vision (Rev. 22:1). Accompanying the river, John was told there will no longer be any curse and there will be no more night. We believe this is very appropriate for someone leaving his/her old life behind and embracing a new beginning.
"But when the wicked turns from his wickedness and does what is lawful and right, he will live because of it.”
-Ezekiel 33:19
